The 'Careless Truth' Press Release:
Kevin McLeod's new release, Careless Truth, contains nine songs full of guitars, a jamming band, and Kevin's unique voice and take on life.
20th Century Guitar Magazine said, "As guitar players go, Kevin is about as fine a player as you'll ever hear. He is capable of getting a great tone out of both electric and acoustic guitars." Kevin puts his skills to good use on Careless Truth. “Follow the Money” features fierce slide guitar playing. The story in “Brooklyn, 1964” is further developed by Kevin’s melodic guitar solo. “Another Wasted Day” wraps serious subject matter in a catchy song.
The excellent band features Kevin on guitars and lead vocals, Al Improta on bass, and Joe Chirco (Zen Tricksters, Donna Jean Godchaux Band) on drums. One listener described Careless Truth like this, "I can hear musical influences from Phish, Dave Matthews, The Grateful Dead, and Tom Petty, and the best person I can compare the lyrics to is Roger Waters because some serious topics are addressed in a very personal way."
Kevin’s past releases won him a following on college and indie radio stations. The singles, “Liana’s Lonely” and “Greed and Fear”, followed his 2003 CD release, The Road Home. All were met with indie support.
